What is Title I
Title I is the largest federal aid program for elementary, middle, and high schools. It has been in existence since 1965. The goal of Title I is to provided extra help and instruction for students who especially need it in the areas of math and reading. Title I teachers are responsible for group and individualized instruction for students who meet district guidelines. The teacher serves students who are struggling to meet grade level expectations in math and reading through small group or individualized instruction and assessment.
